Formal Complaints

If you are dissatisfied with any service we provide and wish to file a complaint, you must do so in writing. A telephone call is not sufficient to initiate a complaint review and investigation.  We will accept a letter or other written communication stating your complaint, but if you wish to use a form, you may use the SOAH Inquiry, Comment, or Complaint Form.  You may also contact our customer service representative to request a form.

Your complaint should be sent to:

Hon. Lesli Ginn
Chief Administrative Law Judge
State Office of Administrative Hearings
P.O. Box 13025
Austin, Texas 78711-3025
Fax: (512) 463-7791

You should state clearly the nature of your complaint, including sufficient information to describe the misconduct that you believe occurred or the problem that you experienced. Once we receive your complaint, a written acknowledgment of receipt will be sent to you within five business days, including notice whether an investigation of the matter is warranted. The time to conclude a matter depends upon the nature of the complaint and its complexity.  Some may be resolved in 30 days or less; others may require substantially more time.  You will receive a written report of the resolution of your complaint. SOAH’s complaint policy is here.
